This week’s weekly wellness dives into your various surrounding environment(s) you enter on a daily basis, and how they may have more of an impact on your life than you may think! Whether it be your office at work, the compartments of your car, or the various rooms of your home, a neatly organized space can bring such positive impact to your productivity and life overall!
Cluttered Space
When you have a space with a lot of clutter, it can naturally lead to feeling more stressed. Things are all over the place, you have to search for things constantly, and it’s just incredibly overwhelming! Not to mention, your mind just feels all scattered, matching the room, making it harder to focus on being productive and attacking any given task at 100% of our true capability.
Clean Space
Now, take that same space, and tidy it up. Organize it. Customize it to your liking! Not only will it look much nicer, but you’ll feel a sense of fulfillment. You have now put forth an effort and created a personalized space. You know where things are, you can find a sense of pride and peace with yourself much easier, your thoughts and ideas are clearer than ever, and you have the space to truly focus on what truly matters to you! It may seem silly, but the cleanliness of your spaces, especially the ones you spend the most time in, have the capacity to save you loads of unnecessary stress
Taking Action!
Now, depending on your life situation, this task of cleaning and organizing may seem daunting. Here are a few tips for success that I’ve taken away from my own experience!
- Don’t take it all on at once!
- Just like any other goal, you’re not going to get it all done overnight. It’s making the most of each day and getting a little bit better. The same goes for creating a clean space. Attack one room at a time. Do a little bit today, then a little bit more tomorrow, etc.
- Start with the big things and work to the small ones
- Start with bigger things like furniture placement. The lays the foundation for a cleaner space. Once you have this set, the smaller items just sort of trickle into their place!
- Do it with someone
- Sometimes, a second opinion is much needed, providing you with possibilities and ideas you hadn’t thought of before! It can also help to make it feel less stressful and more of a fun bonding experience.
- Avoid viewing it as a chore!
- When you think of cleaning as a chore, you feel forced to do it, creating this negative energy that you don’t want to be doing it. As a result, you put in less effort to making a nice space. When you view it instead as a fulfilling accomplishment, you will be much more satisfied and excited with each step towards the end product.
At the end of the day, a clean space not only improves your self-confidence and fulfillment, but it also creates the capacity for you to maximize your productivity and win the day, the ultimate philosophy for reaching any goal, being successful, and transforming into your best you, step by step!
